Rafting down the Dunajec is one of the most popular attractions in the Pieniny Mountains. Traditional wooden rafts steered by local raftsmen float through a scenic river gorge between towering limestone cliffs, on the route from Sromowce Kąty or Sromowce Niżne to Szczawnica or Krościenko. We organise the trip as a private transfer with your own driver, who waits for you on site for the whole raft ride, so you don't have to fit in with a tour group or a coach timetable.
How long does the trip take?
The raft ride itself usually takes about 2–2.5 hours, depending on the water level and the starting point. Including the drive from Krakow (about 1.5–2 hours each way), the whole trip usually takes most of the day.
What to know before you go
Raft tickets are bought on site at the raftsmen's harbour. The transfer price quoted when you book does not include the raft ticket. Bring comfortable shoes and something for a change in the weather, as part of the route runs through open terrain.
